What a day for a fun little guy! I can't believe I have a four-year old. Where does the time go? Dean just had a few friends over for some fun in the sun for his birthday party. There were water balloons, squirt guns, sprinklers galore, and a very indestructible pinata (seriously, Devin finally had to bust it open)! Dean had cake rolls for his cake and they were NOT good! (Sorry, buddy.) We will stick with the basics next year, especially since the cake and ice cream are supposed to be the most anticipated part of birthday partying. Ugh.
Dean received lots of cool gifts from his little buddies, grandma and grandpa and even his great grandparents (he chose a yoda costume with the money they sent). He received a very special surprise from Mom and Dad - a bearded dragon, which he named "Indiana Jones" nearly immediately regardless of the many other suggestions we offered instead. Oh well, we can call him "Indie" for short. (Actually, Dean won't let us.)
Happy, happy birthday Deano!!!! You are so caring and lively and we ADORE everything about you. You are such a little man in so many ways and constantly surprise us with both your maturity and your silliness. You are an amazing brother and take such good care of Eli and Ava (most of the time, anyway). You are so spiritual already - like when you shared your testimony with the missionaries at dinner or when I cut my finger slicing veggies and you told me not to worry because "Heavenly Father will heal it". You are so sweet and you make us all so happy and thankful to be around you everyday. Thanks for being such a wonderful boy!
