I love the when Christmas comes because I am addicted to Christmas music and adore Christmas decorations.

I have a confession to make: I decorated a couple weeks ago because I was so excited that the Holiday season had finally arrived. I mean, if Walmart can start displaying their decor and playing their Christmas music the day after Halloween, why should I have to wait? I had to decorate by myself because Devin thought it was too early and preferred to tease me instead. But, you know what? I love it and I'm glad it's done. It makes me feel all warm and cozy every morning to see my tree up and glistening with lights and ornaments. Sigh. I think I may actually cry when I have to take it down. The day after New Year's Eve (when everyone starts dismantling trees and putting away Christmas music) is practically the saddest day of the year. (Don't get me wrong though, we take ours down promptly because I refuse to be one of those people who still have their decor up in February. LOL.

That's my nativity inside the China hutch, and sadly, after about ten different angle attempts I realized I'm not going to be able to do it any justice in a photo. It is gorgeous and I love it and I am considering leaving it in there year-round because appreciating it only once a year just doesn't seem right. It's the Willow Tree Nativity by Demdaco and the only thing I lack is the star backdrop so I am going to have to find one of those. (Thanks for buying this for me, Mom. Someday, when the stinkers are older I will be able to display it outside it's glass-protected hutch. Maybe when they are 20 or so.)

I hope everyone has a GREAT Thanksgiving tomorrow. I know I will because I am planning on eating my weight in Green Bean Casserole. Oh, yum!

I have a really nice Hallmark one my MIL gave me over the last few years and I have yet to put it out because I don't want pieces to get broken and it has been discontinued :(; 8:17 PM

8.23.2011 - As I leaned down to kiss Eli goodnight he puckered up and grabbed my face and started tilting his head from side to side, not letting go. Mom (after prying him off): "Eli? What on Earth was that?" Eli: "I was kissing you like a princess, Mommy."

7.30.2011 - At church the Primary teacher asked Eli, "what are some rules in your home?" Eli: "No biting!" Teacher: "That is a very good rule, why do you think that's a good rule?" Eli: "Because biting can hurt my teeth."

6.14.2011 - Dean: "I love you, Mom. You're always so pretty." Mom: "Thank you, Dean. I love you too." Dean: "But I love you even if you're not pretty." Mom: "Well, that's good. But which is it? I though you said I was always pretty." Dean: "You are. Except when you're in your pajamas... but I still love you."

4.25.2011 - Dean: "Mom, I need you to start writing down every funny thing I say and sending it to my friend Landon's house."

4.23.2011 - Eli: "I'm three and I love to slide but when I'm four I'm going to be scared of sliding, okay Mom?"

3.22.2011 - Dean: "Mom, I wish I was 26 instead of 4." Mom: "Why? Being 4 is awesome." Dean: "I know. But then I could be old like you." (Uh, gee. Thanks. Dare I tell him I'm 27?)

2.19.2011 - After an exhausting soccer game during which Dean's best bud Jordan apparently ran faster than him. Dean (with a little bit of annoyance in his voice): "Why are Jordan's shoes faster than mine?"

2.14.2011 - Mom: "Okay boys, you have to go to bed on time tonight so Mommy and Daddy can have a Valentine's date together." Dean: "That sounds fun. Can I come?" Mom: You wouldn't want to come. We're going to be boring." Dean: "Why? What are you going to do?" Mom: "We are just going to give each other lots of kisses." Dean: (After pondering for a minute and with a bashful smirk on his little face) "That's kinda gross... buuuut I guess that's okay."

1.12.2011 - Dean: "Can you have two husbands, Mom?" Mom: "Who else would you have me marry?" Dean: "Me. Does that mean that I have to give you my CTR ring for you to wear?" Mom: "Aw, that's so sweet, Dean. But you should keep your ring so you can always remember to choose the right." Dean: "Alright, then I'll get you one from the machines at Walmart. Those ones are WAY bigger than the one Dad got you!" (For the record, the one Dad got me is plenty big. But it sure doesn't have candy inside. The kid's got a point.)

11.25.10 - (As Dad keeps driving past gas stations on our Thanksgiving road trip.) Dean: "Mom, Dad keeps passing gas!"

9.22.10 - Mom: "Did you have fun playing at your friend's house today?" Eli: "Yeah, and I probably didn't bite David." Mom: "What? Did you bite David?" Eli: "Probably."

10.15.09 - Dean: "Mom, help. My nose is walking." Mom: "Don't you mean running?" Dean: "No. It's not going that fast."

10.1.09 - (As Dad caught Dean pestering a bug.) Dean: "Don't worry, Dad. This bug will be dead in twenty minutes."

9.19.09 - Mom: "Sometimes people get cranky when they feel sick." Dean: "Oh, then I think Daddy gets sick a lot."

7.17.09 - (When Mom had the flu.) Dad: "Mommy is puking." Dean: "Cool! Can I see?"

4.3.09 - Dean: "I like spiders because they have 'ape' legs."

2.19.09 - Mom: "Are you being a cowboy?" Dean: "No, I'm being a horse. But only boys can be horses, and girls can only be cows."

2.4.09 - (Dean with a Mr. potato head part stuck around his ankle.) Dean: "It's stuck! It's stuck! Please get it off me." Mom: "Oh no, Dean! I think it's stuck forever." Dean: (with a sob) "If you were Daddy you could do it."

1.29.2009 - Mom: "Dean, why are you naked?" Dean: "Because I just took all my clothes off."
