{not exactly...}

This is not exactly what you want to see sitting on your patio when you open your back door. (That blurry white part is the step up into the door of my kitchen).

But, I'll do ya one more than that even.

This is ESPECIALLY not exactly what you want to see when you are only opening said patio door because you hear your two-year-old excitedly proclaiming that he will "hold the caterpillar".

Wow. I am pretty sure this snake would have chomped on poor Eli had I not happened to hear him say that, so thank goodness I did. He sure tried to bite me during my attempts to chop him in two...which were successful, by the way. Take that, creepy snake! (That will teach him to hover on my back patio where my rugrats play.)

{happy Easter}

We went to an Easter-egg hunt at H-E-B (a Texas grocery chain) on Saturday morning at 8am. I left Ava home with Dad and just took the boys. It was a bit crowded but the boys had a blast riding the ponies and petting the animals at the petting zoo after their egg hunts. Not to mention, we also received free donuts for breakfast. However, I'm so lame and forgot my camera, so you'll just have to try to imagine the fun they had.

Once we got home I wanted to take photos of the kiddos in their Easter get-up and, wouldn't ya know, after all the early-morning fun they had they were grumpy. They kept crying for no reason when we tried to take their photos! It was totally confusing and frustrating. So, these are all we got because Dev and I gave up on the little monsters. We decided it was far better to have some not-so-wonderful photos and happy children than to pursue the photo-taking any longer and have angry children. It seems like this scenario is the new norm for any photo taking around here. Ugh.

Aside from our horrible photo-session, our Easter was a great one. We all had a great day and the Easter bunny even left behind some "clues" alongside his usual candy-filled eggs that led to a treasure hunt. I took pictures of various places in the house and printed each one small enough to fit in eggs. At the end of all the "clues" were presents for each of the kiddos. The boys loved it and it was fun to watch them because they were so excited to run to the next location in the photo to find the next egg. Too cute!
