Happy Thanksgiving!

Here is Dean dressed in his best while Daddy still sports his pajamas - how typical! (Just kidding.) Actually, after dressing Dean in his holiday attire and seeing how ADORABLE he looked all dressed up, we decided the picture should not have to wait for us to change, too. Here we are, pre-turkey, anticipating our upcoming feast. Isn't it obvious by the anxious look on Dean's face? And here is Dean, post-turkey, all tuckered out. I would say that it was the turkey that did it but he didn't even have any. Poor little guy! And last, but not least, the Thanksgiving bunch! The Quarterers were kind enough to share their feast with us and we took this picture at the end of the evening. Unfortunately, it didn't occur to us to take it any sooner so many of the guests had already left. (From the top left: Stephanie, Devin, Tiffany, Charlyn, Mark and Dean, Dan, Doug, David, Karen, and Nannette.)

That's our little turkey on Turkey-Day!

Here is Dean on Thanksgiving morning participating in his favorite pasttime. We recently discovered that he LOVES magazines because of the crinkle noise that the pages make. Thanks to all the advertisements for the post-Thanksgiving sales, we had plenty of pamphlets and ads to spread out for him to rustle around in (and no worries about him licking the paper since the ink is made from soy bean oils in the magazine-spread style pages). Dean had a blast and I have to admit, the rest of us were pretty entertained as well. I can't wait to see how he reacts to all the wrapping paper at Christmas!

Soup's Up!

DEAN DIGS IN! Dean is loving feeding himself his carrots - well, at least what actually makes it into his mouth. Dev and I decided to just give him a spoon and a scoop of carrots to see how he would react. He loved it but kept dropping his spoon. Thus, as you can see, much of the carrots just ended up in his lap and on his face. Oh well. Our next challenge was figuring out how to clean him up. It was Daddy's idea to take the whole high chair, with Dean still strapped in, into the shower. Dean didn't seem too bothered and it actually worked. Good thinking, Dad!

RUBBER DUCKIE - YOU'RE THE ONE!

Splish Splash - Dean LOVES his bath! More importantly, he LOVES his rubber duckie and green foam bear. He has a blast just sucking on his little bath toys in the tub which makes bathtime a LOT easier on Dev and I than if he were to hate it. Isn't he adorable? That's our squeeky-clean little guy!

He's Cruisin' (in more ways than one)

YAY! DEAN IS CRAWLING! Dean surprised us when he started crawling the day he turned 5 months and now he is into EVERYTHING (as can be imagined). We figured the next step is walking so we bought him this Jeep walker that glides along with him each step he takes. Too cute. As you can see, he loves it and although he could only scoot backward at first, he now knows how to walk toward us. What a smart baby! One last note, another major challenge that Devin and I have recently conquered is ridding Dean, permanently, of his binkie. We are so glad it's gone and Dean even sleeps better without it. Yay us!

Happy Halloween!!!

Here is little Dean on halloween. He was a red chili pepper and looks very similar to the sign hanging at the Chilis restaurant if I do say so myself. A couple people actually told Dev and I that we should take him trick-or-treating but for fear of looking like adults just trying to get free candy we decided he could just help us hand out the candy at home. However, we quickly gave up on that idea when he fell asleep. I guess being a spicy little pepper really wore him out. :)
